Archolia Chapter 5 - The Physician

After some time, Archolia’s clinic was completed; located on a hill just as Queen Chalyela envisioned.
After a few letters back and forth with the queen, Bloodletter Gavin Okar  agreed to leave the village where Queen Chalyela grew up and  occupy the clinic as Archolia’s sole physician.
This made Queen Chalyela very happy, because she knew that her health would be well monitored with Bloodletter Gavin around.
Secretly, this also made Bloodletter Gavin very happy. He had always thought of Chalyela as regal , proud and beautiful.
Upon his arrival to the Kingdom of Archolia, Bloodletter Gavin is very happy when Queen Chalyela comes to visit him at his clinic.
“Your majesty, your visit gives me great joy.  Have you been in good health?”
Aye Gavin, I have faired well.  I know that having you here will ensure that I will continue to keep well.”

“I am glad to be here and I look forward to serving the citizens of Archolia .”
“How can I best serve your kingdom first M’Lady?”
“Well, there is a mysterious illness going around.  If you can find a cure, you will be well rewarded and I’m sure quite famous here and in neighboring territories.”
“Rest assured your majesty.  I shall set to work on a cure right away.”

“Thank you Gavin.  Inform me at once when you make progress.”
Bloodletter Gavin is excited to begin his work in healing the people of Archolia and making the queen happy.
Right away he begins examining villagers who have already come to the clinic in swarms, desperately seeking a cure to what ails them.
A quick examination, and Gavin determines that this villager is suffering from the plague.
He decides that sucking out some of the ill blood will cure this villager of his illness.
Gavin places leeches all over the villager’s face; allowing them to suck out a fair amount of his blood.
Right away the villager feels some relief, but Gavin is not convinced that he is completely cured.
The villager grabs Gavin’s hand and shakes it enthusiastically.  “Thank you Bloodletter sir!”  Gavin reluctantly accepts the villager’s gratitude, but knows deep down that this is not the last time he will see him.
