Archolia Chapter 2 - The Monarch

Now that Archolia’s forest has one less bandit to worry over, Chalyela continues on her journey to check on securing enough wood for a clinic.
She heads into the forest with her sword ready.

Moments later, Chalyela emerges from the forest cheerful because her lumberjacks have made great progress in securing enough wood for her new building.
She walks toward her next destination, the stone cave near the graves.
The walk from the forest to the graveyard is long, but Chalyela enjoys the view along the way.
Rounding the corner to the graveyard, she spots the gravedigger standing next to two fresh corpses.
“Might I have a word M’Lady?” The gravedigger approaches.

Lady Chalyela nods and waves her hand, giving the gravedigger permission to speak.
“M’Lady I am to dig new graves  for these newly perished, but I thought it unceremonious to do so without a proper rite by a priest.  I wonder if perhaps a church might be built.”
“A church is indeed a part of my plans for Archolia.  I thank you for  your service to this kingdom.  Fare thee well.”
“I do humbly thank you for your ear M’Lady!’
Lady Chalyela leaves the gravedigger to her duties and enters the cave to check on the stone  miners progress in securing stone for the kingdom.  Again she emerges in a grand mood.  She will have enough stone for her clinic.
Assured that the stone and wood requested by the buildmaster will be ready, Chalyela heads to the village shops.
The road to the village is long and often dangerous, thus reinforcing the need for a barracks and a knight in Archolia.
Upon her return from the village, Chalyela is approached by a citizen of Archolia.
Chalyela is appalled as this citizen describes to her the actions of a town bully who has been causing much ruckus in the town square.
“I shall go there at once!  Such foolishness will not be tolerated here in Archolia!”
As Chalyela approaches, the bully immediately bows.  “Your majesty!”
“You are to be delivered to the stocks!  Bullying is not permitted in this kingdom!”
“But your majesty, I was just-”

Chalyela silences the bully with a wave of her hand, before calling the constable.
The bully attempts to plead, but the queen will not listen.
Town crier Bertram and the bullying victim stand at the judgment zone.  A small crowd gathers as the crier rings his bell.
The bully reluctantly approaches the stocks, followed by Constable Kirk.
The bully once again begs and pleads to no avail.
Her head and arms are placed in the stocks where she will stand for a fair amount of time.
Constable Kirk closes and secures the stock around her as she helplessly struggles to free herself.
After a few moments, her struggling ceases as she discovers that struggling quickly drains her energy and makes standing harder.
Lady Chalyela grabs an egg and throws it at the face of the bully.
“You shall never bully another citizen in this kingdom,” she says.  Chalyela does not take pleasure from being unkind, but maintaining order in her kingdom is a must.
