As soon as she enters her sleeping quarters, all feelings of drowsiness disappear. Ermine decides to study the Sacred Text of the Watcher for a while.
It is late in the evening before she attempts sleep. She drinks a goblet of naptime tea and pulls back her covers for bed.
She lies down for a few hours, but only tosses and turns.
Weary and tired, she reluctantly rises out of her bed.
It seems that everyone in the kingdom is peacefully sleeping, but…
…Ermine is up. She decides to bless the well. All who drinks its blessed water shall benefit.
Realizing that she could use some blessings, she draws a bucket of the sacred water.
Ermine drinks a flask full of the water.
The water is refreshing as it enters her body.
She can feel its power surge through her…
…but still she cannot sleep.
Ermine is tired and can barely keep her eyes open as she sits down to eat her gruel.
The warm meal is soothing, so she opts to lie down for a quick nap.
Sleep comes to her surprisingly easy. Ermine floats away and a vision of the fountain returns to her. “Seek me my child. I shall heal you!”
The calmness of the vision is not enough to keep Ermine in her sleep. She awakes. “I shall seek out this fountain!” She decides.
Again, she lies down to attempt sleep.
And again she is up again only moments later. Ermine is so desperate for rest that she wants to cry…but she is too tired. “Please Watcher, guide me in this quest,” she whispers, “I am at your mercy.”
